Ships of the Desert

My journey of living in Dubai and experiencing the vast, impressive architecture and views of the city at different times of day, particularly at sunset inspired this original painting. The combination of old and new was also a theme, as the old ancient methods of travel by camel contrast highly with the new sprawling Dubai cityscape. The colours I sought to explore also signified the heat and amazing light experienced in the city at sunset. Oil paints enabled me to maximise the effect of this.
